Groundwork London is a community charity with a green heart that has been at the forefront of social and environmental regeneration in London for over 20 years. Each year the Groundwork London Volunteering team supports thousands of motivated and caring people to find the volunteering opportunity that is right for them. Our team supports prospective volunteers through every stage, from wanting to volunteer, to finding the right opportunity and helping them get started in a volunteer role. Over this 18 months, Groundwork has deployed 1000’s of volunteers to support COVID 19 volunteering efforts, including vaccine marshalling, food and medicine delivery drivers and befrienders. Our team also work with small local charities and organisations to make sure that they can find and support the volunteers they need to do the vital work that they do. As one volunteer we supported said “having the opportunity to do something I usually wouldn’t have done on my own. It was completely different to my day job and the benefits are immediately visible for the local community and I to enjoy.”
